Privacy
You can sign in with a verified Google account to save drawing ratings. Signed-out previews do not save ratings. Signing in creates an account identifier and session as described below.
What counted voting stores
Google sign-in confirms an account and verified email. The application derives a pseudonymous voter identifier from the Google account ID. It does not retain your email, name, Google access token or ID token. An HTTP-only session cookie keeps you signed in for up to seven days.
We store assigned drawings, your 1–5 usability ratings or Cannot judge responses, timestamps, experiment/artifact versions, rating protocol and moderation status. Responses are linked to the pseudonymous identifier to enforce duplicate and contribution limits. This is pseudonymous, not fully anonymous data.
Abuse controls and providers
Cloudflare hosts the site, database and Turnstile verification. Google provides account sign-in. The application uses short-lived, keyed network identifiers for request limits instead of retaining raw IP addresses in its own database. Cloudflare and Google may process data under their own policies. This page describes application storage, not those providers’ complete processing.
Optional website statistics
With your permission, BIM Bench uses Google Analytics (G-6CKVGHBT8X) to understand page visits, referring websites, approximate location, devices and engagement. Google Analytics is loaded only after you choose Allow analytics. Rejecting it does not affect drawings, sign-in, ratings or subscriptions. Advertising consent stays denied and Google signals are disabled.
We do not send your Google sign-in identity, email address, voting reference or individual rating to Analytics. Our page-view configuration omits URL queries and fragments, and uses only the referring website origin. Google processes technical connection information and uses first-party Analytics cookies to recognise a browser. These are pseudonymous statistics, not fully anonymous data. See Google's privacy policy.
Your choice is saved in this browser for 180 days. Analytics cookies are configured to expire after 180 days without renewal. Open Analytics settings on any page to change your choice; rejecting removes the site's Analytics cookies and reloads the page to stop tracking. It does not erase data already received by Google. If browser storage is unavailable, your choice applies only to the current page.
Benchmark update emails
If you subscribe, your email address is sent to EmailOctopus for new benchmark announcements. Subscription is optional and never automatic: voting does not subscribe you. You can subscribe with the form, or by ticking the unticked-by-default box “Also email me when new benchmarks are published” next to the Google sign-in button; in that case, your verified Google email address is passed once to EmailOctopus during sign-in. Either way, we do not store newsletter email addresses in the voting database or link them to ratings. EmailOctopus maintains the mailing list and subscription status. Unsubscribe through the link in any update, or contact [email protected] for help.
Retention and deletion
Expired sessions and short-lived request-limit records are cleaned during sign-in. Account identifiers, assignments and vote records are retained until the site owner manually deletes them; there is no automatic deletion period for those records. For privacy questions or to request deletion of your account identifier and linked records, email [email protected]. While signed in, open “How your vote is counted” on the rating page and include your voting reference in the request. The site owner may ask you to verify control of the account before deleting its records. Published aggregate results may remain after identifiable records are removed.
